OUR HISTORY
It all started with a six-foot tea bar tucked inside our friend Chelsea’s gallery. We didn’t have much—just overflowing enthusiasm, a handful of world-class blends, and a few tea lattes. Among them was a little creation we called “Bellingham Gold”—our take on traditional golden milk, made with pure organic spices and local honey. It quickly became the runaway favorite. Today, you might know it as our “Golden Chai.”
As more and more people asked if they could take it home, we knew we were onto something special. So, we spent the next year perfecting the flavors and sourcing the purest ingredients to create six unique blends inspired by turmeric, matcha, and beetroot. It was a labor of love—and a bit of trial and error—but we were determined to make something truly exceptional.
Since then, it’s been a wild ride. We launched a Kickstarter campaign, said goodbye to the original tea bar, showed up at wholesale and retail shows, and even built our own mixing facility to keep up with the growing demand for SAKU Superfood Blends. What started as a small passion project has grown into something bigger than we could have ever imagined, and we’re so grateful to share it with you.
